One and a hall Year ago during the Namm Show in Anaheim, Mariette met mr Paolo Fazioli from Fazioli Pianoforti.These Pianos are among the finest Grand Piano’s one can find in the world. Fazioli Grand Pianos are played by Murray Perahia, Herbie Hanckock, Brad Mehldau and many others.
Mr. Fazioli told Mariette about his concert Hall in Sacile Italy and asked her if she would like to record her album there.
Allthough Mariette loves the sound and feel of the Fazioli Grand Piano and was enthousiastic to do so, she had to consider other options first. But this year Mr Fazioli asked her again and after discussions with friends and her Producer she decided to do the recordings on a Fazioli Grand Piano in the Fazioli Concert Hall.
After the recordings in Alessandrie last month with the accompanying musicians, it was now time to record the Grand Piano, So Mariette travelled to Sacile Italy to record the piano parts on a 278 cm Fazioli (F278)
First the piano “suite” was recorded, all songs on Grand piano only, then Mariette recorded all the songs with
the backing tracks recorded in Alessandrie, along with a click track.

CD Recordings april 2012

In the week of april 9 till april 14 Mariette went to Alessandria, Italy for the recording of the base tracks of her upcoming CD Tales of the river.

After a periode of composing, arranging, studying, pre recording, listening, studying again, performing the songs in the US, Germany and Holland, the concept of the CD was ready. Mariette then started to look for the right musicians.

In January Mariette met with internatioonal drummer/percussionist Tony Liotta during the 2012 NaMM show in Anaheim california and agreed to start working with him on the final product. In february and march Mariette and Tony arranged and rehearsed the songs in the drum studio of Tony in Dortmund, where they laid out the final musical form of the project.
Now Mariette has entered final stage of production of the long awaited CD Tales of the River.

The recordings are done with Tony Liotta on drums and percussion, Fabio Casali on guitar and Luca Scansano on bass.
Andrea Fresu of the Keep Hold Studio will do the recording and production.
Mariette played as a guide the digital piano and will replace all the piano parts beginning of may in the Fazioli Concert hall in Sacile (venice) on a Fazioli grand piano.

Tales of the River will be released as a two CD package with on CD 1 all the songs as a piano suite (Mariette solo) and on CD 2 the songs with the arrangements in a complete new and surprising approach.

Rehearsals new CD

Mariette is rehearsing in Dortmund with Drummer/ percussionist Tony Liotta for the upcoming CD River Tales-tales of the river.
Recordings will take place in Holland E sound studio, Italy Keep Hold studio and at the concert hall of Fazioli in Italy

Lounge 88 Welcomes Piano Manufacturers for a Special Opportunity

Once again, NAMM is acknowledging a very important segment of the industry and is going all-out to give piano dealers and manufacturers new piano-focused seminars, networking opportunities and social events with live music performances in Lounge 88, located on Level 3 of the Anaheim Convention Center.

While NAMM continues to develop these programs for this industry group, we are currently looking for piano manufacturers who will volunteer a piano for our live music stage (to remain there for the duration of the show), along with a dynamic recording artist to entertain at live music performances happening twice a day.
